Exhibited throughout the country, 1997-2003 as part of "Women of the Book: Jewish Artists, Jewish Themes"

The work is based on a trip I took to visit relatives in Leningrad in 1989. At the time I was struck by the changing nature of truth, the contradictory ways family members of differing generations and nationalities viewed the same story. Five books, designed in the form of a matrioshka, so each fits inside the previous one. Each book is titled with an actual phrase from a Russian lesson and the images and text provide stories that relate to that phrase.
